Cultivate partnerships with organizations that have the ethical and moral obligation to put their employee’s retirement savings goals in the forefront.

Returning to some semblance of normalcy after a pandemic can bring many challenges to Plan Sponsors. Navigating through the onslaught of agents and advisors hoping to gain access to the workforce for 403(b)/457(b) sales opportunities can confound Plan Sponsors.

Each day, agents and advisors are prospecting in employer-sponsored retirement plans hoping to secure applications from plan participants that need investment and retirement advice. Of course, Plan Sponsors are not able to conduct a background check on each person that attempts to work with their employees. However, making sure those sales representatives are vetted and scrutinized thoroughly by the vendors on the plan, should be expected by every Plan Sponsors.

In order to limit the scope of employee engagement on campus, many districts and schools throughout the United States have put policies and procedures in place to ensure their employees are handled with the best care when working with financial services professionals. Now more than ever, it is imperative that Districts cultivate partnerships with organizations that have the ethical and moral obligation to put their employee’s retirement savings goals in the forefront.

Here at National Life Group, our Certified 403(b)/457(b) Training requires independent agents to go through an intense half day training curriculum that stresses the importance adhering to our best practices.  All agents licensed and appointed to sell annuity products with National Life Group must be in good standing and go through our ethical training to guard against unscrupulous behavior when working with your employees. Successful agents that have attended our Certified training and have met the business requirements, are selected to represent National Life Group as a Certified 403b/457(b) Agent. These Certified Agents are nationally recognized in over 7,000 school districts because of their hard work and dedication to acquiring our coveted and exclusive Certified Badge.  As a Plan Sponsor, we want to bring you peace of mind in knowing that our independent financial professionals are fully trained on the rules and regulations of the industry and are taught to apply them to every client engagement. In order to maintain the Certified Badge each year, independent agents must follow key concepts when working on campus with your employees, including but not limited to:

  • Make sure all advertising & marketing materials are reviewed by National Life Group Compliance and your School District.
  • Work with your School District and/or TPA to follow the rules and guidelines.
  • Agree to State and Federal civil and criminal background checks with ongoing monthly monitoring.
  • Required education on applicable State and Federal regulations for state retirement plans.
  • Comprehensive review of solicitation practices
  • Sign In and Out at the front desk.
  • Visibly show the Certified Badge before entering the building.

We’re committed to the professional training and development of our financial professional to make sure their knowledge and skills are above and beyond the industry standard. Likewise, you want what’s best for your employees – Let’s work together and ask for the badge!
